Ryland Project Table

I've been loving this table in the Pottery Barn catalog for a while now! Not necessarily for how it looks but for what it does.
See how both ends flip up for storage... And see that great power strip inside with a cord that runs hidden inside the table leg, perfect for being in the middle of the room with chargers or hot glue guns plugged into.
Also see how it can also be used as a dining table which would be perfect if a person building a house decided they didn't want a formal dining room that only got used a few times a year so they turned it into an office BUT, on those occasions when it needed to be used for dining, it could!I never thought I'd get it, especially since I'm expecting most of our rooms in our house to be empty for a while after we build, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. Friday, I decided to look it up online so I could show Jason and start pleading my case way early. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't find it anywhere on the PB website. I called the store to get the exact name of the table (Ryland Project Table) and was told it had been discontinued (of course), they then did a further search and found that they pretty much had the only one left in the company on their floor (they could have been stretching the truth but I choose to believe this is the VERY LAST Ryland Project Table on the face of the earth). They said it was on sale since it was discontinued and since it was a floor model they'd take an additional 30% off. I showed Jason afterwork and he actually liked it! I couldn't believe it! We went today (although I thought we should have gone as soon as he got home from work yesterday) - it was still there (whew!) - and we got it! It's exactly what I wanted in the office - I'll have a desk built in along the wall so this will be in the middle of the room for lots and lots of projects. I'm so excited, I had to blog about it! I'm using it now!

So cool! I'm jealous! Actually, I'm not sure if I'm more jealous over the awesome table or how little arguing you had to do to get it!

I also saw it 50% off then with the coupon take another 30% off and with the coupon code (467) you can save shipping plus get a $50 gift card.
Wish you would have told me about it before you bought it. Could have saved you tons. :)
Enjoy it anyways.

We have this table along with the six matching chairs that Pottery Barn's catalog said went with the table, and the legs on this table are close enough together that two chairs (even the armless chairs) will not fit side by side on the side of the table and be able to be pushed under the table. It is very frustrating - if they had just built the table with the legs a few more inches apart the side chairs would fit under the table side-by-side.
